Curb & Main

Calls and messages

Our numbers take calls from homeowners. We don’t run outbound campaigns, we don’t send marketing text messages, and no AI ever places a call for us. When an assistant answers a call, it says it’s an AI first.

In short

Every phone number on a Curb & Main website is inbound only and is recorded with a spoken notice. Calls ring the local contractor’s phone. If the contractor can’t answer, an AI assistant can pick up, identify itself as an AI, take the caller’s name, number, and request, and text those details to the contractor. Curb & Main does not place outbound calls, does not use AI to call anyone, and does not send marketing text messages. Reply STOP to any message to end it.

Phone calls

Every phone number on one of our websites belongs to us and exists for one purpose: a homeowner sees it, dials it, and is connected to a local business that can do the work.

  • All calls are incoming. We do not dial out from these numbers.
  • Every call opens with a spoken notice that it is recorded, before it connects, in every state.
  • The call rings the local contractor’s phone. If they pick up, you’re talking to them.
  • We do not use an artificial or recorded voice to place calls. Not now and not later.
  • Recordings are kept for up to 13 months and then deleted. See the privacy notice.

When the assistant answers

If the contractor can’t pick up, or it’s outside their hours, an assistant can answer instead of voicemail. This is what it does, and all it does:

  • It says in its first sentence that it is an AI assistant answering for the local business.
  • It asks for your name, your phone number, and what you need done.
  • It sends those details to the contractor by text so they can call you back.
  • It does not quote prices, book appointments, or take payment.
  • That call is recorded like any other, with the same notice at the start.

If you’d rather not talk to an assistant, hang up and call back during the contractor’s hours, or leave your details and they’ll call you.

As of the date at the top of this page the assistant is not switched on for any town. It is turned on for a town only after it passes its test calls. Until then, a missed call goes to voicemail and the recording is emailed to the contractor.

Text messages

We do not send marketing text messages. We do not run promotional campaigns by text, we do not buy phone number lists, and we do not text people who have not contacted us first.

Two kinds of practical message are built into our system. As of the date at the top of this page they are switched off and no text message has been sent from our numbers. When they are turned on, this is exactly what they are:

  • A lead summary to a contractor. When the assistant answers a call the contractor missed, it texts the caller’s name, number, and request to the number that contractor gave us. This is the only text the system sends routinely.
  • A missed-call reply. If you call one of our numbers and we cannot connect you at all, a single text may go back to the number you called from, saying who you reached and offering a call back. At most one per caller in 24 hours.

Both go only to somebody who called us first or who works with us. Neither is marketing.

Stopping messages

Reply STOP to any message from us and it stops, immediately and permanently, with no questions asked. Reply HELP and you get our name and how to reach us. Message and data rates may apply from your carrier. Message frequency is low. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

The terms of use repeat these points, and the privacy notice says what happens to your number.

Your number

We do not sell mobile phone numbers, and we do not share them, or any text message consent, with anybody for marketing or promotional purposes.

When you call a number on one of our websites, your call and the number you called from go to the local contractor who takes that town’s calls, so they can get back to you. Where a website has no local contractor yet, we may connect your call through a pay-per-call network that passes it to a local business instead. If we do, that network is named in our privacy notice. No other business receives your number for its own use.

Questions

These numbers and messages belong to Curb & Main, Chamber of Commerce (KvK) registration 42177891. Company details are on the About page.

Write to joey@curbandmain.com. If you want a recording of your own call deleted, say roughly which website you called and when, and we will find it and remove it, unless that call is part of an open dispute, which the privacy notice explains.

Questions about calls

Tap a question to open or close its answer.

Will an AI ever call me?

No. Our numbers only take calls. The assistant answers calls that came in and never places one.

How do I know my call is recorded?

You hear a notice before the call connects, every time, in every state.

How do I stop texts?

Reply STOP. It stops immediately and for good.
